Well, bad news, folks. After less than four months, Library Monday is officially retiring. Unfortunately with school in session the Indianapolis Public Library just is not offering enough in the way of school age programming to make it worth a post, and at this point they don’t seem receptive to offering any homeschool-specific programs. Hopefully at some point that will change, but I’m not holding my breath. As always you can check out what they have going on for yourself at www.imcpl.org/events. For more homeschool activities I recommend checking out the Greenwood Public Library or the Westfield Public Library.  I will continue to check out as many resources as I can keep up with and post happenings on our Calendar page. I also often share the things I find on Facebook, so be sure to follow me there.

I’m a little sad to leave Library Mondays behind. It is kind of what began this little site of mine. It was totally selfish. I really just needed the motivation to write out all of the cool free programs I kept missing and this was a good place to do that. Hopefully somebody out there read my posts and found an awesome event that worked well for their family too. I’m still committed to finding lots of great activities for all of us to take part in, so don’t worry about that. I just won’t be focusing on my local library to do that.

Because I love having a themed day and because this is something that has been working its way onto the blog anyway, I’ve decided to focus Mondays on my own personal thoughts and feelings. Every other day you can enjoy reviews, upcoming events, and all the other good stuff I have in store for you, but Mondays will now be mine to talk about whatever pops up in this little brain of mine.

So consider this a formal farewell to Library Mondays. We’ve had some good times, we’ve had some bad times. Maybe someday we will meet each other again. But our time has come… And a formal welcome to Monday Musings! Ah, I already love the alliterative quality! Beginning next Monday (since this Monday has already passed) you will get the whole new brand of Monday. And I hope you enjoy.

Because everyone is beginning their school year, things are a little wild around here. Not that I am doing much official planning for our year, but I’m still feeling that pressure and it makes everything else seem really crazy.

I just finished reading one great book and am in the middle of another, so stay tuned for some book reviews in the near future.

Also I have been dragging my family on many exciting adventures lately, and I can’t wait to share all the details.
