It’s still summer here, so I’m having a hard time getting back into school mode, much less planning for Fall! And yet here we are. Tuttles Orchards has their Homeschool Orchard Day coming up on October 6 from 1:30 – 3:30.
There are two tour options available:
Apples Then & Now (at 1:30): Learn about the life cycle of the apple orchard. Visit the giant refrigerator where apples are stored. See the cider press work and sample some delicious cider. Then you get to pick a bag of four apples. $5/person.
Pumpkin Biology Tour (at 2:30): Discover life science through pumpkins. Compare and Contrast different types of squash. Enjoy a hayride to the pumpkin patch and take home a small pie pumpkin. $5/person.
For $7/person you can sign up for both tours. All come with free time in the Agrimaze or Kids’ Farm.
I might be biased, but I think Tuttles has the best tasting local apples and the friendliest staff (it helps that they’re five miles from my house). They are located on the NE side of Indy in Greenfield.
A great new feature this year is you are able to reserve your space on the website! Also, if this date does not work for you but you have a co-op or support group that would like to tour, now you can book a tour at your convenience online!
