Here at Indy Homeschool, we love all teachers. I think sometimes there is this “us and them” attitude between home educators and public educators, but we have none of that here. I grew up in public school and I had a couple of teachers who changed my life. It was their love and dedication that inspired me to be a teacher myself.
As I grew up, I became disillusioned with the school system. I could not bring myself to go into it myself, which makes me respect those who do even more. Public teachers, yours is not an easy job. Especially when every time you turn around budgets are cut further and extras are nowhere to be seen. For this reason I am proud to partner with McDonalds of Central Indiana to get the word out about their MAC Grants program.
The MAC Grants program is open to all middle school teachers (grades 6, 7, and 8) to make hands-on learning more accessible in the classroom. Teachers from across Central Indiana may submit an application and budget to win up to $500 for a classroom activity. One teacher from each county, plus at least ten from Marion County, will be chosen to receive MAC Grants!
Here’s the catch: completed applications must be submitted by September 30, 2014. So you’re kind of on a time limit here. Get those grants in fast!
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! To help promote this great program and celebrate its fifteenth year, we’ve got a giveaway! McDonalds of Central Indiana is providing us with this really nice branded backpack! Who couldn’t use a new backpack, right? But hurry, this giveaway ends Sunday night! a Rafflecopter giveaway

I can't remember her name.. But the name of the school was Burton Elementary in Detroit.
Mrs. Sheets, my high school English teacher
A good English teacher is such a gift! I had an amazing high school English teacher too, Mr. Nunnery.
Yay
In high school, a teacher mailed a letter to my parents about what a great, caring kid I was. Changed my life and how I saw myself.
