The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force will hold its annual Home School Day on April 20, 2015. On this day, the entire museum is opened up to homeschoolers with hands-on classes, presentations, guided tours, and even story time for the littles! This is a whole family affair, and the best part? It’s free! No advance registration is required, though you will want to arrive early as tickets to the classes are first come/ first served.
In addition to the planned activities available during Home School Day, you’re also welcome to take a self-guided tour of the museum, take in a movie in their digital theater (there is a cost for this), or take a ride on a flight simulator (discounted cost for this one).
They have a cafe in which you can purchase lunch, or bring your own lunch and eat at one of their picnic tables.
The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is located near Dayton, Ohio, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Home School Day takes place from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m on April 20.
