January 31: Family Fun Concert

Thank you to Carmel Symphony Orchestra for sponsoring this post.

Palladium Homeschool All AccessI think one of the hardest things for my family can be affording great cultural events. One of the reasons I started this blog was to help other families find fun, educational opportunities that we could actually afford. That’s why I’m really, really excited for the chance to tell you about the Family Fun Concert at the Palladium!

The Carmel Symphony Orchestra feels as strongly as I do about sharing the gift of music with children in an affordable, fun way. That’s why they are offering the Family Fun Concert on January 31, 2016. This is going to be unbelievably fun. Children will have the chance to sit on stage with the performers as they play selections from some of the greatest music ever composed. In addition to exposing the kids to classics, the orchestra will play some songs the kids are sure to recognize. Last year’s concert included excerpts from Star Wars and Frozen!

After the concert, an instrument petting zoo will be set up throughout the Palladium in which kids are encouraged to try out their favorite instruments. Everything from violins to xylophones to trumpets will be on display and ready for the touching (don’t worry, I’ve been assured there will be plenty of alcohol wipes on hand to keep things sanitary).

And now for the cost. For all of this, kids tickets will cost you a whopping FIVE DOLLARS. Adult tickets are $20. All tickets cost the same, regardless of seating, so you can get the best seats in the house for this unbelievable cost. Well really, your kids are getting the best seats in the house, because they can go up on stage and sit with their favorite performers if they so choose. Really, this is such an affordable, awesome experience for families. And children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend, so don’t worry that your two year old might make a scene. This show is for them.

The concert takes place at 3:00 on Sunday, January 31. You can purchase your tickets now online or by calling the box office at 317.843.3800. The Palladium is located at the Center for Performing Arts, 1 Center Green, Carmel, IN.
