The Grapes of Wrath at Indy Libraries

Grapes of WrathI was an English nerd in high school (and my first couple of years in college), so I was required to read A LOT of books. Most of them, I honestly wouldn’t read again. The one exception is The Grapes of Wrath. We had to spend an entire quarter working on a research paper about this book, and I loved every minute of it. So you can probably imagine the squeal of excitement that emanated from me when I saw the event poster for THIS one…

The Indianapolis Public Library will be hosting book discussions on The Grapes of Wrath led by members of the Indiana Writers Center, as well as a screening of the 1940 film. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a discounted ticket to the storytelling performance, “Steinbeck Out Loud,” by Carol Burch (the performance will take place on March 19).

The book discussions are most appropriate for teens and adults, the film screening is open to all ages.

Celebration of The Grapes of Wrath book discussions will take place at:

  • February 22: Glendale Branch at 6:00
  • March 3: Warren Branch at 10:30
  • March 5: Bookmamas (9 S. Johnson Ave., Indpls) at 1:30
  • March 7: Franklin Road Branch at 6:30

The Grapes of Wrath (1940) Film Screening will be at Central Library in Clowes Auditorium at 2:00 on March 6.
