2015 Homeschool Classes at Bradford Woods

BradfordJoin Bradford Woods for all-day classes this Summer and Fall, and a Winter camp just for homeschoolers! Bradford Woods is an outdoor learning facility in Martinsville that is part of Indiana University. Most of their programs are geared towards students in grades 3-8. Parents are free, younger siblings can tag along with parents for a $5 fee. Be sure to bring a sack lunch for all day programs. Visit their website to register for these programs! All day programs are $20/student unless otherwise listed.

Tuesday July 14, 2015 from 9:45am-3:15pm – Survival Skills (includes Leave No Trace, Fire Building, Shelters, and Outdoor Living Skills Module). The recreation includes climbing our 40 foot climbing tower (ages 8 and above please). $10/person add-on fee.

Tuesday August 4, 2015 from 9:45am-3:15pm – BW Wildlife! – Use our Interpretive Center and Bird Blind for wildlife viewing. Wildlife in the Woods Module will be used. The recreation includes Instincts for Survival!

Tuesday September 22, 2015 from 9:45am-3:15pm – Terrific Trees! We will be walking through Bradford Woods beautiful forest and learn how to identify the most prominent trees including The Indiana State Tree – the Tulip Poplar. This program will utilize our Trees Module. The recreation for this day will be American Indian Life rotations.

Tuesday October 13, 2015 from 9:45am-3:15pm – Eagles! Did you know Bradford Woods has a pair of eagles nesting on our lake? This program will offer opportunities for students to observe birds in their natural habitat and learn how to use binoculars correctly. Students will look at the difference between wetland and woodland birds. We will be using our Wings of the Woods Module. Come fish on our lake for the recreation that day.

Tuesday November 3, 2015 from 9:45am-3:15pm – Nature Lover’s Combo! We will be combining several modules this day for an active program that explorers echolocation, wild edibles, tree ID, and a nature scavenger hunt. We plan to play Alpha Wolf for our recreation. You don’t want to miss this one!

WINTER Camp

December 4-5, 2015 $80/student for overnight camp for 4th-8th grades

December 5, 2015 $30/student for day camp only for K-3rd grades
