Homeschool Classes at the Children’s Museum {Fall 2015}

ChildrensMuseumHomeschoolIn case you’re new to our Indianapolis homeschooling community, I’ll let you in on a little secret: The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis offers THE BEST homeschool classes. No, they don’t pay me to say that (though, Children’s Museum, if you’re reading this and would LIKE to pay me to say that, I’m always open to it. *cheesy grin*), but it’s true. The program is run by a member of the staff who is a homeschooling mom, and I’m convinced that’s the secret behind their success.

What you need to know:

  • These programs are designed for families. A parent is expected to be in the classroom with their child.
  • This is not a good place for younger siblings. Since you will be working with your school-age kids, littles are not a good fit. Most programs are appropriate for ages 4 and up, though check the details on a specific class before signing up.
  • This year, the Children’s Museum has updated their pricing structure so parents are paying a smaller fee than their children, which is nice!
  • Classes take place once a month on a Thursday. The class is an hour and a half long. They offer a morning and afternoon session, assuming enough people sign up for both (which is rarely an issue).
  • Sign up early because these sessions do fill up quickly. Because they are awesome.
  • Most programs cost $5 for adults/ $10 for kids. For members it’s $4 for adults/ $8 for kids.
